This sensing and knowing that we are in HARVEST time has deepened daily up here on North Vancouver Island, British Columbia! Clear crispy crunchy blue skies with a vastness of sky mind possiblities opens humanity up to cocreativity! AND first, we must prepare!
At the marina, boat culture folks are pulling up vessels from their docking sites, up onto trailers, behind trucks, driving them to storage lots. The boats are zipped up after prow spaces are cleaned up, motors are drained as are the inboard freezer boxes, fishing rods and nets are put away in houses, and there is a sense of hibernation for those activities until next spring.
As a veteran camper, my tarps are dried, folded, placed with reverance into large plastic bags and put beneath my sons deck. Similarly with my camping stoves, lanterns, and camping kitchen equipment! WHAT is ending and needing to be tended to as this season comes to closure?
My daily evening meditations are fuelled by gratitude as the attitude for these times in our lives! My heart serenades the abundance of opportunities, the Great Give Aways and the Put Aways!
This morning’s breakfast at Black Bear Lodge on NOrth Island was a surrendering to the awareness that beings were coming for the Cormorant Island POTLATCH! Here in the North West Pacific coastal territories, tribes and nations have for generations chosen to celebrate the year’s accomplishments with generosity of GIVE AWAYS! What a joy to share time and table with a family whose 7 year old daughter was being initiated to the Salmon Dance, to the Bear Songs, to the Orca Whale Movements, to the Ravens Call, to the Eagle’s Vision! What a momma’s GIVE AWAY to her future Grandmother!
This tribe of the Namgis begins today, a three day SOJOURN with the truth of prosperity of families, gathering to share songs, dances, portrayals of the past ancestral ways, celebrating and recalibrating to the ancient root culture with language that is not on line nor available on Facebook! Can you IMAGINE surrendering part of each day to restoring your root culture of GRATITUDE by offering items for Potlatch to a space within your home? Can you IMAGINE seeing that GIVE AWAY with joyousness and gratitude? ONE full year restoring justice to the tribe! These indigenous seeds were planted inwardly generations ago and though they were covered by shameful abuse, in the tending to these seeds, more arises, more than the traumas, the treasures and wealth of family and clan and tribe and nation arises! This is a Great Harvesting of possibilities into realities shared without divisiveness between beings, without competition and comparison between families! Others may call this therapeutic. Here , we call it our CULTURE!
AND this way heals all beings for that is the intention!
IMAGINE babies as papooses slung over the heartbeats of mothers danced in these sacred ways! Listening to the mothers breathe of generosity, inhaling exhaling and living deeply. IMAGINE mommas leaving one POTLATCH ready to be seeded by a warrior man, receiving the sacred seed, gestating it, labouring and delivering this infant of the new earth of ancient ways the next POTLATCH!
What a contribution women make through our ages and stages as we move sing dance through the HOOPS OF ALL OF OUR RELATIONS! My heart weeps with unstoppable joy (LISTEN to Marya Stark’s song) as a Grandmother of a BUNDLE, with deepening roots to the crystal mandalas at the core of EARTH, my GIVE AWAYS have been generational pains and lack of core self wearth! I have taken time to tend to sacred fires in temiskals and given away the trauma of childhood and the grief and abuse of our mother and grandmothers! I have given away a mindset about aging and respect, about Elders and indigeneity and our CIRCLE WAYS that are the antidotes to white male patriarchy dominion over ways!

Over the past moons, she has chosen to take on the Thirteen Moon Belt TWICE moving through sexual abuse, sexual addiction and pornography! Confused about her beauty and her womanhood, she has emerged through her relationship of embodied strength. She was struck by a truck while riding her bicycle a year and half ago in Victoria BC! What lives beneath the generational shame and guilt, doubt and fear is the antidote to POVERTY> This diseased state of mind heart being prevents us from offering our gifts, from participating in thanksgivings, from sharing in pOTLATCHES. These are soul contracts at the roots of our beings and we MUST dive deeper so that we can excavate that which hides the treasures! When these troubled seeds emerge, we need allies, soul friends, collaborators, and a willingness to ask for HELP! Consciously, we need to sit within: This , too, will pass! All of this is temporary for all changes. The true self within the wild heart is already percfected, shining, brilliant and illuminated! Affirmations that support the excavation: I AM is love; I AM cares; I AM is capable of caring for the self as it descends and arises.

To take the time to be generous to your own being no matter age and stage and to complete that which was left behind in those traumatic timesl We invite you to affirm 6 times a day; ALL NEEDS ARE NOW MET and to cocreate that GRATITUDE CHECKLIST. Dance on these new wavelengths knowing that what once was familiar and normaolized, is no longer relevant. The miracle of YOU is emerging and you are UBUNTU, ONE with the greatest of those you admire. Be inspired by others and inspire others in turn. Be the ONE you admire deeply!
We are the ONES we have been waiting for, precious ones. We are the ONES who can honestly admire, appreciate, be thankful for, and honestly sit in our nakedness complete with ANTLERS , receiving the solar light, the lunar radiance, the stellar sparks of universal intelligence deep down in our bodies and back to the EARTH! Let this full moon be one of POTLATCH and welcome your own soul back home to body!
Homework assignment: Listen to Marya Stark’s Unstoppable Joy! Rewrite your BIOGRAPHY on large bristol boards with coloured postems for the Turning Points Up or Down! Record the lessons learned in each of those POINTS! What is your purpose now? What is your LIVING LEGACY? Who and how have you benefitted?
