On a crisp spring day in June, I laid in the dark cloud of my room, clutched by depression, thinking to myself “How did I get here?”, especially when just a few months back, I was on top of the world.
I had just come back from studying for three-years in South America, from traditional medicine people. And with the passionate energy of the south, I was filled with youthful enthusiasm and great plans to change the world!
However, in the process of bringing my dreams to life, I soon found out that carrying out Life’s mission was much more difficult than I expected. While the spiritual dimension of my life was developed, I lacked many of the practical skills required to ground those visions from Spirit, into this world. So those “dreams” simply remained dreams.
Needless to say, the despair from not living a life true to what Life was asking of me, eventually lead to that depression.
Thankfully, due to a set of synchronicities, I found myself 3000 kilometers from my home at the table with an Elder known as Owl Talks, a Blackfoot medicine from the great plains of North America.
This wise man, whose spirit has walked here for thousands of years, showed me how to bring balance to my life, to marry the Spirit with this world, and to bring my dreams into reality. Through his example, his stories, and a life completely dedicated to service, I learned what it meant to be human.
This man has given so much light to the world and has helped thousands of people along their path. However, it saddens me to write, that this beautiful man’s son has been in critical condition for over a year due to a violent assault. It has been a heart-wrenching journey, that has taxed the family on all levels. And unfortunately, the medical costs for a full rehabilitation exceed the family’s financial resources.
In the spirit of supporting our Elders, we created a campaign to mobilize community support.
I write this letter to the dreamers, to the one’s who know the world will be better when we bring those visions into this world, to the ones who love our Elders, To the lovers of wisdom, and want to ensure that these teachings get passed onto the next generations. We need your help.
I don’t know who you are right now, but as I have learned from Owl Talks, I know that we are all family. So as my family, I trust that if your reading this, it’s for a special reason, what that is, only the creator knows. But I trust it is good.
Our fundraising project will bring a weekly podcast and youtube channel to bring these teachings to the world while using it as a platform for donations.
