It’s just another day in the life for The Way of Vibrantly Team. Every Wednesday night we gather at the Tree House Intentional Community Space in beautiful Green Lake, Seattle, Washington. It’s 6pm in the dead of a white January winter night and we begin by gathering around a small candle, each picking up an instrument preparing to connect in the We-Space for our opening ceremony. The space has been smudged and cleared, dinner is ready and waiting on the stove, and we are all gathered on bright red cushions laid out before us. As we prepare to begin, Jordan turns to me and asks what’s going on?
I reply, “Well, it’s muffin day.”
Suddenly.
Everyone stops.
They stop what they are doing and direct their energy to me, sending waves of empathy and love.
One by one they begin to sing a familiar tune. (Listen to the Song Here!).
This is our way of honoring the women in our team when they get their Moon Cycle, and especially for the most delicate day of the cycle (which we call muffin day). River Soulshine wrote this song, and we have all learned it. It helps bring sweetness, vulnerability and humour to the Woman on her cycle, and allows us all for a moment to sit with her in the space.
In The Way of Vibrantly, when a woman is on her moon, we honor her as stepping into the Moon Goddess space, holding a tenderness, and also creating an energetic vortex, deepening everyone’s ability around her to access the psychic field. When a Moon Goddess is present at our team meetings, we know to expect things will be a little different. Emotions may be deeper.  We choose to soften our expression, and communication just a little, staying in a gentle space. Choosing to lean into what arises, and allowing.
We see this time as a moment to particularly drop into the soft, sacred, yin energies of the moon. All team-members of all gender identities (of which we have a very diverse group) share in the energies. As we mature in this space, more and more of our female bodied members share their Moon at the same time, amplifying this experience. And, consequently, more of our members who do not bleed are able to have the experience of what it is to be in the field because it is so magnified by the presence of multiple Moon Goddesses.
It is a tremendous blessing to hold eachother in this way. We still complete our agenda items, we still do our ceremony and traditions, but there is an extra element that provides insight and reflection during these times that is not always present, and we honor this. We are grateful for the chance to move in the world more closely with the flow of nature’s rhythms.
Alisa Viti, writes that “When you live in partnership with your body, you have access to an innate power to create positive change in your life and the world around you.” This is wisdom is not only profound and true at the individual level, but it is incredibly potent when applied at the scale of a business or organization. Moreover, following a women’s cycle is not just about connecting in partnership with the body, it is also in partnership with the universe and all beings on some level.
In her amazing book, Women Code, Vitti explains how different parts of a women’s cycles are more closely matched with different sets of super powers. If you can align your personal work flow, and that of your team or organization to the flow of the women, everyone benefits. On a practical note, it increases productivity, and an overall sense of wellbeing, and it also allows for ancient wisdom to begin to be collectively remembered and unforeseen insights to arise.
Any aspect of the cycle you can incorporate will deepen the experience, and increase the motivation to continue to learn. So, whether you incorporate Vitti’s patented Flow Living plan for working together, or organically explore and create your own culture of honoring as we did, any awareness, shared meaning and culture around honoring the moon is a transformational experience, and blessing!
Good luck to you, and write me at mikulenentine@wildlyvibrant.org about how it goes, I would love to hear from you! Â
